Resorts. This is important. This is where you will spend a lot of your time during your Disney vacation so you want to make sure you choose the right one for you and your family. If you don’t know, there is basically 3 types of resorts. Value (From $93 a night), Moderate (From $166 a night) and Value (From $307 a night).
This posts focus will be on all of the moderate resorts.
–PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE: Port Orleans riverside starts at $189 a night for a standard room and $236 for a Royal Guest Room. On the website you can find what type of room will fit your family and what you would like to stay in and the prices will vary. This is my personal favorite moderate resort. When your magical express bus pulls up to this resort you will be greeted with open arms, just as everywhere else in Disney. When you walk In you will see the concierge desks where you will check in/out and go if you have any questions. There is a wonderful gift shop with not only Disney Merchandise but essentials you may need during your stay. There’s a nice pool, as well as Horse drawn Carriage rides and “movies under the stars”. There is bike rentals, fishing, and even a playground. Your main transportation will be the Bus, but if you want to go to Disney Springs a fun thing about this resort that’s not like any others is that you can take a boat. There is casual dining, a restaurant called Boatwright’s or the quick service “Riverside Mill Food Court”.
PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER: This is the only other Moderate resort I’ve stayed at. This resort is a Mardi Gras theme. The standard room starts at $189 a night as well as Riverside. Since it is also Port Orleans, it includes the boat ride to Disney Springs. This resort has a lot of the same recreational things as Riverside including fishing, bike rental, horse drawn carriage, movies under the stars and a playground. There is no Casual Dining but there is Quick service which is called “Sassagoula Floatworks and food factory food court”. There is also a pool at this resort.
CARRIBEAN BEACH RESORT: This resort is in the Epcot resort area. A standard room starts at $166 a night. Again, depending on your family wants and needs this price will vary. They also have a pirate room which starts at $230 a night. This resort is currently undergoing refurbishments and I’m not quite sure what this entails but I can tell you how the resort currently is. Some of the recreational activities available at this resort include a movie under the stars, campfire activities, pools, pirate adventure cruise, fishing, bike rentals, volleyball, playground and an arcade. Their dining includes quick service, known as “Old Port Royale food court” and casual dining, “Shutters at Old Port Royale”.
DISNEYS CORONADO SPRINGS: This resort is in the Animal Kingdom resort area and a standard room starts at $170 a night. One of the cool things about this resort that the others don’t have is a fitness facility. There is also Unique themed dining, known as “Maya Grill”, Casual dining “Las Ventanas” and quick service as well. Room service is available for Breakfast and Dinner. Some recreational activities include pools, bike rentals, movie under the stars, volleyball, playground and an arcade.
